Fleet Commander Impressions

Fleet Commander Impressions

Hi all! Here is Landlubber’s impressions for the game Fleet Commander. This has been reposted from the MBS forums. See the original post here).

Forum member BrdingPrty1 and I have met up a couple times in the past few weeks to try out his copy of Fleet Commander, by Capsicum Games.

This won’t be a full review, as we only were able to play a couple of games, but I wanted to put down my initial impressions of the game and share a few pictures while it’s still fresh in my mind.

Dystopian Age Model Previews

Dystopian Age Model Previews

As I discussed in my previous post, Warcradle made a big announcement last Friday about their plans for the future of the Dystopian Wars setting, which is now being heralded under the banner of the Dystopian Age. Unfortunately, I got so carried away with my discussion of the main points presented by Warcradle that I didn’t get around to sharing my thoughts on all of the neat model previews and artwork that was also shown! So, that will be the focus of this post. The images you see below come courtesy of Alex Mann, who graciously gave me permission to use the screen caps he took from the Warcradle video for his blog. You can find them in his original post if you haven’t been there to read his thoughts already!

The Dystopian Age

The Dystopian Age

Greetings! Yesterday, Warcradle Studios published a video and a blog post detailing their plans for the Dystopian Wars setting, which they aquired from the fire sale that resulted from the shuttering of Spartan Games. The blog post and video are both very well done and chock full of information, including hints at major changes in the background, previews of new models, and some expounding on the company’s philosophy behind how they are handling the games and settings. I recommend that you make time to go and have look for yourself, but I will be summarizing what I see as the main points from their presentation and addressing them in detail below. In addition, Alex Mann has put together an excellent reaction post of his own over on his blog, and that too is well worth a read.

Ruckdog’s Report Episode 2

[iframe style=”border:none” src=”//html5-player.libsyn.com/embed/episode/id/5888781/height/100/width/480/thumbnail/no/render-playlist/no/theme/legacy/tdest_id/326082″ height=”100″ width=”480″ scrolling=”no” allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen]

Ruckdog is back with the second episode of the newly independent Ruckdog’s Report! This time, he is joined by Dale, who was on the MBS Podcast back in episode 16 when he helped Greg and Andy review Star Trek Ascendancy. This time, Dale and Andy discuss all of the big news that has been happening with Star Trek over the last 6-7 months, including the new expansions for Ascendancy, the launch of Star Trek Discovery, and The Orville, which may just be the best Star Trek series that isn’t a Star Trek series. Oh, and some side-conversations about 40k might have snuck in there too. Thrill as Andy can’t figure out if we are talking about Star Trek or Star Wars! Chill as both Dale and Andy struggle (and ultimately fail) to come up with Seth Green’s name! It’s all there and more in this month’s Ruckdog’s Report!
