Title: Babylon 5 Call To Arms
Post by: Dakkar on March 06, 2016, 12:10:13 am
Was just listening to the MBS Ep 3 discussion of the Class "C" games (i.e. OOP But Remembered).

If anyone local wants a learning game or match or demo, let me know. I still have forces for Earth Alliance, Drazi, and my beloved a GLORIOUS Centauri Republic!
But also I have playable ship-tokens for just about every vessel/fleet in the game. And all of Stephan's old handy reference sheets (Speaking of, Stephan probably has far more B5 too than I do, including bagfuls of First Ones)

Until Spartan came along, this was THE best space game around.

I wouldn't mind giving it a try sometime.

We'll have to set a Monday or Saturday. Any faction you're interested in the most ?

I never did play the "Call to Arms" rules set, but did play the original B5 Wars set several times.  Dale/Stephan, have you played both?  Preferences?

I really enjoyed the Bab 5 ACTA rules, unfortunately I got into it too late to get any of the miniatures, had a few games with the card templates and it seemed to work really well.

Sadly the curse of Mongoose killed it off, same as it has with Star Trek ACTA.

Forum member Stephan still has all the Battle-sheets he did for every fleet, every ship. And both official versions (with typical Mongoose imbalance) and the revised versions where we tried to rebalance it all.
Since the core rules were so light, all you really need is a summary sheet and those Battle sheets, and one could play games to hearts content.
That's why I still keep all the ship tokens for every fleet, my fully painted Drazi fleet (GREEN!), and half painted fleet of the GLORIOUS CENTAURI REPUBLIC!

:-)

Awesme! I've been slowly picking up Earth Alliance ships when I find them here and there. I'd be happy to host all of those files on the MBS downloads page BTW ;)

I have a boatload of Centauri.  Was planning on painting the majority in the traditional royal purple and gold, and then different schemes for a few ships to represent a few of the noble house (House Molari and in honor of Dune, House Harkonnen and Atredis).  One of these days...

Only my Drazi are done. the Centauri are a base coat purple at best in most cases. I hadn't thought about House colors (I don't know any...) but no doubt, I'd do House Cotto, and House
Molari (as reformed on Emperor Vir's orders)
I figured it would be an easy way to tell various house factions apart when they're busy fighting themselves.  And a chance to make some other fun color schemes, although I do love the royal navy colors.
