Alongside my latest French additions, I did a test on a couple of the landing craft I got a couple of months back alongside Hurricane Season:

I did a pretty quick and basic job on them, since they aren't going to be used a whole lot anyway. What do you guys think? The overall green color was inspired by the rulebook, but I'm thinking of swapping it for a grey color instead.

I think they look fine as is - a crisp, clean scheme.
However, why green? I know it's in the Hurricane Season book, but it wouldn't really fit with your fleet, right?
So, I vote grey!

Well, there is some historical reference for green landing craft; many used in the Pacific during WWII had green camo schemes. At any rate, the idea is to find a generic scheme so that they can be used with any of my fleets (or someone else's, for that matter!) ;).

What can the landing craft hold? And how big is it? Maybe you could post some pics with it near other craft for a size comparison.
Great paint job, by the way. But it looks very Army, not Navy.

The landing platform can handle three medium land models, while the smaller craft can take 4 small models. Here is a pic with my PE dreadnought for size comparison:

There are more pics of these models in the blog post I made back in July, if you are interested ;):

It almost looks like your large ship could fit inside the large landing craft.
What are those called, the floating drydocks which position under a damaged ship and then rise up to effectively carry the ship, like a drydock? That's what that large landing craft looks like. Two cruisers should fit in there with room to spare.
On the other hand, there seem to be skirts around the medium and large landing crafts, as if they were actually hovercraft... and I have been hoping for some hovercraft models which can operate equally well on both water AND land.
And, yes, the color scheme is generic enough--green always wins my vote of confidence. And I like the black/yellow caution stripes on the forward ramps/doors.

Hee hee, you are right; the large landing barge does look like a floating dry dock! Those aren't just used for battle damage, though. They are also used for regularly scheduled maintenance too. The sub bases in San Diego and Groton both have floating docks for working on the boats stationed there, for example.

And on the large landing barge, along the deck, I just realized those must be train tracks... right?

That's what I make them out to be! I thought that was a really neat detail.
