This idea came to me at work a couple days ago.
While I like the UNSC's Epoch-class heavy carrier in the new Halo: Fleet Battles boxed set, the model does have a lot of empty space on the upper part of the hull.

After trimming all of the parts off the sprues, I was left with a bunch of excess plastic.

And so the project begins...

Let the modeling begin! Taken what was given with a mini and making it your own is pretty fun. Exploring it a bit more, but taking a bit to decide on what to go with. Looking forward to seeing what ya do with this one!

When it comes to large spaceships, one of the things I really like is asymmetry. Not for fighters; I'm talking about big ships. I think this is why I liked the ship designs in EVE Online so much:

To that end, I added a little "texture" to the upper hull of the Epoch to make it a little more asymmetric, using some leftover plastic from the sprues, some staples, and some pieces of paper clip:

Next up--adding the antennae.
-
Interesting idea. The small embellishments your are adding will do a nice job of setting your ships apart from the pack, I think ;).
-
It's going to look great when you get it painted.

Thanks for the words of encouragement!
Last modification: the antennae.

Like the Marathon cruisers, these antennae are made of staples. I tried placing them in several different places around the hull, but I think they look best on the bow.

After I get the Liquid Green Stuff off the nose, she'll be ready to paint! Now if I could just get my work schedule to agree with my hobby schedule...dang work...
-
Are you gluing the staple parts on or drilling holes?
-
Doing everything by glue, actually...no drilling.
