Absolutely amazing man.  That's a beauty! I think I have an (unbuilt) model of the Nova-class DN from the same maker...

Yes, you could in theory accelerate forever.  Complicating this however, is the fact the cost to turn your ship goes up the faster you're going... and the danger of having your Retro thrusters blown off, which would keep you from decelerating easily. ;)

Yeah, the movement system was an attempt to represent interia in a vaccum.  So, if you're moving "north" and pivot the ship, you're still moving "north", you're just facing "west".  You can of course change your movement vector to "west" as well by turning instead of pivoting.

I loved the game, still do.  Just don't get to play it much.  I'd say it's designed more for the squadron level (3-5 ships per side) than the "dual" or Fleet level. :)

The game system they were designed for is Babylon 5 Wars by Agents of Gaming.  GREAT game, but 10 years dead now.  You can still pick up the minis and books if you fish around on eBay.  The molds were also reused for Mongoose Publishing's Babylon 5: A Call to Arms.

Thanks lads!

The game's been "dead" for 10 years but still has a devoted following, not as active as it once was but there.

The minis/molds were also "re-used" for Babylon 5: A Call to Arms by Mongoose.  I prefer the AoG game "Babylon 5 Wars" myself, but the minis are the same. :)

Never much cared for ACTA, but the minis are the same, so you can use 'em for both systems. :)

Thanks fellas!

Thanks lads!  Glad you enjoy.  I admit it's tough matching paint schemes with ships I did 10 years ago (while my painting has grown in that decade).  But I try to "improve" on them without "obsoleting" them.  :)

BTW, Agent One (Bruce Graw) still maintains a sale page and is selling off "old stock" ;) that you may be interested in.  http://aog.hostedbywebstore.com/

Thanks!  I have more unpainted than painted, but the scale of game I have time to play these days, this is plenty!  :o

I own one of each, and like them, but they are a bit different from starfighters.  And don't get me started about the Blockade Runner.  It's beautiful, but calling it a "mini" is a real stretch.  :o

While I'm working on my advanced EA ships, I realized there were some minis I'd never photographed that I did either recently, or a while back.  Here's my Vree fleet... at least all I have painted of it:

Obviously I've mixed some FA scale in there, to sub for minis not produced by AoG...

The mini quality is not up to par with X-Wing, at all.  As Trek minis go, they are not bad.  They are superior to the old Galoob MicroMachines we used back in "the day" for Trek gaming (when tires were made of stone and you pedaled with your feet).  They really aren't to scale, except the USS Enterprise 1701 (no bloody A, B, etc).  Sadly these are all re-used models from HeroClix, and when complaints about scale surfaced in that game, the result was 1701 being "in scale" to the 1701-D.  Hence why it is referred to as the "Tinyprise".  :(

That said, here are some comparisons to MicroMachines for perspective (these are the HeroClix models, but same molds):

And, despite the mini quality, the game plays very well.  I really enjoy it; lots of fun.  As with most things, the way I prefer to play is not always the way others do; I've read about Organized Play events won by dudes flying Borg with Picard in command and some Romulan officer etc., etc.  I like "Faction Pure" or at least "Show Believable" builds. :)

Sorry Mark, I checked my local stores.  One (about 40 mins away) used to have a big range of Firestorm Armada stuff... but it's all gone, looks like that shelf is pure Dystopian Wars now.    :(

Aside from eBay, I don't know of any online vendors that carry FSA specifically... have you tried Miniature Market?
