Honestly, I have yet to see a Planetfall model that i remotely like, and these new ones don't change that. I really like the new DW models. Man does Spartan have game creating ADD!

I don't think I will be able to do that weekend, a wedding (not my own) on friday, then the seafood show the rest on the weekend and all that it entails.

Modeling Q&A / what Vallejo colors do you use for wood decks?

Hi guys, got my Raj naval battle group yesterday and I'm getting ready to paint them in the next week. What colors do you use for the wooden decks? I prefer Vallejo paints as I am used to their viscosity and I like the dropper bottles. Thanks!

Good call! I like the look of the australians too so thats good! A joint raj-Australians force would be really really cool, especially if I paint them in the same scheme.

Sorry to dig up a relatively dead thread, but I am new to the game and I am thinking of playing Raj. I like the models and the rules. My question is, are they so solid in stats that there is very little room for finesse? Are they a point and shoot faction primarily that I will tire of after only a few games?

Well, when I saw your forces compared to mine just from table coverage, I figured something was up. You were severely out numbered by significant ships. By significant I mean medium to small medium ships, such as cruisers and destroyers. You were also out gunned by russians in range bands 3-4, which really shouldn't happen! Unless all your ships had ridiculous assault values, I can hardly see how you could have won, as in the following turns 3 destroyers, 3 cruisers and a battleship would have had main guns and broadsides (where applicable) at the ready waiting to hammer you in the shorter range bands. I think that a faster force may be warranted, or maybe generators in the troop transport.

I used a cheap jewelry cleaner and some simple green-water mix (1:4) and ran it for about 30 min. The black primer is still on but all the paint was gone, even in the recesses of the sheet metal roofs on a novgorod that tend to be quite stubborn. If you tend to strip minis often, I would totally recommend the investment. Mine was ~$30. Plus it keeps the lady's jewelry clean and thus the lady happy, a super bonus.

Hey guys, I was the Scourge player that MajorMcNicol faced off against, and hopefully a DW player soon! Too bad you couldn't make it down Ruckdog, but maybe Major and I could make a trip up to your area. I am always up for a road trip and to see other hobby clubs/stores/gatherings.
