Hey folks, thought since I live in MA, I ought to mosey on over here and introduce myself. I'm Pieprophet, and I'm over in Northampton, MA. Up till now all of my mini gaming has been at a FLGS just up the road, but I certainly wouldn't mind expanding my opponent base. I would especially like to find some Firestorm Armada players, as I picked up a sizeable aquan fleet, and no one at my FLGS plays it yet. I look forward to getting to know you all, and maybe even getting some games in at some point.

I like em, though i have to admit being a sucker for purple and green. I'm also rather partial to the PLC (I intend to grab some myself someday). I look forward to seeing some bigger pics.

Thanks Landlubber, and distraction happens, a lot. For me anyway. I have several armies for different games, and I've had trouble getting any of them painted, I get distracted by books and video games a lot, among other things, including just the general minutia of life. But I'm working on that.

I managed to get into the store today, and actually managed to get a game in (well, part of one anyway, silly store, wanting to close on time XD). I didn't wind up going to take pics until after the game, at which point, I was in quite a rush. I only got a group pic, and my buddy took that one for me, since for some reason I was shaking like mad. I will be taking a solo shot of one of the Augustas for more detail at some point, but for now, here is this.

I love what you've done with the models (though i'll have to admit, a like of the Terquai is one of the many things that drew me to the aquans). As many have said, the metal with the blue looks killer. I will certainly taking inspiration from these when i finally get some Terquai of my own (and ya know, actually start playing FSA).

Thanks Andrew, for my navy, I'm taking as much inspiration as i can from civil war ironclads, so far I'm happy with the results. I do feel like i need some better pictures to show the deck, the whole thing washed heavily with black wash, which is not shown well. I may take another round of pictures at some point, see if i can do a better job.

On a related note, the Augustas are done, I just have not had a chance to take any pictures yet, expect them tomorrow.

I actually just googled Dystopian Wars forums, and then looked for ones with a good sub-forum for posting a painting log, and also seemed to have a good community of painters. If was between here and the spartan forums, but i kinda liked the layout a tad more here, and also liked that it looked like there were more painting logs here (not that there are not a good number on the spartan forums, just felt like there were more here, and i liked that there was a whole sub-forum just for painted models).

Hey there, new guy here, just making the rounds, admiring the piles of talent around here. That said, I'll try to ration out my responses, so I don't flood the forums with something along the lines of "oooooooooo, shiny" in every thread, but I just wanted to say these are absolutely gorgeous. I love the Aquan models (I may or may not have an Aquan fleet sitting around waiting for the day i get some of my friends on board, though me getting into Planetfall is still a ways off, the models are great), and what you have done with them is both awesome and (as someone with an aquan fleet to paint "one day") inspiring. I hope I can paint my fleet up half this well.

Thanks, thank you for the welcome, and all the compliments. The mat is actually a cloth cover at my FLGS, so while i do play on it with some frequency (and it is fun to play on), it's not actually mine. I took my models in to photograph, since between the mat, the terrain, and the surprisingly good lighting, it's better than anything I could set up at home. Once they are done (just some touch ups, a wash, and some windows) my Augustas will get the same treatment, should be tomorrow.

Also, sadly, I am not in the Denver area, my buddy was just visiting family out there, sounded beautiful ( he would not shut up about how much he wants to move there).

Thanks folks, I feel super welcome! To be honest, I'm mostly here for painting related stuff, as there is a shop not five minutes from my house with a decent DW base (though sadly no Firestorm players, that i know of, but I'm trying to fix that). Which is not to say I'm opposed to finding new opponents, but given i've struggled of late to get to the store just down the street, I'm not sure when I will have time to find games further afield. That said, I do live in Western Massachusetts, so games with folks in the Boston area could be a real possibility.  For now I'm just hoping to stay at least sort of consistent with painting, rather than what I normally do, which is paint between half a thing and a thing, and then do no painting for months. Once I have more of my fleet painted, I might start making more of an effort to find time for games. Thanks again for the welcome, and if you do see me in and rules, tactics, or painting tips discussions, it will likely be along the lines of "Help! What do I do?"

Hello everyone! For anyone who read my recent post in the introductions section, some of this may be a tad redundant. I have been playing Dystopian Wars for a little less than a year now, and have in all that time, one finished painting one squadron of ships, my Revere Class Corvettes. I just recently started painting again, and as my Augusta Class Frigates near completion, I thought it might be time to start a painting log, in the hopes that posting pictures of my finished progress will help keep me motivated to improve, and reminded to paint.

With all that said, onto the pictures!

First up is a group shot of my Reveres, so far the only fully painted ships I have, though hopefully I'll have that fixed tonight or tomorrow.

A solo shot of one of the Reveres. I like to think the ship is idling in the harbor there.

Along with more finished ships, I hope to have names for these ships soon, but I have not come up with anything I like yet, so that will have to wait, for now. My priority right now is just to get some things painted, and hopefully improve while i do it. On that note, criticism or advice is appreciated, I'm still a nooby painter, and I know it.

Hey there folks,

My name is Pieprophet (well, it is on the internet, anyway), and I've been playing Dystopian Wars a little less than a year now. the last several months I've been having some trouble finding time for games, but I hope to be fixing that soon. I've also struggled to stay on top of painting, with only one squadron of small ships finished to date, which brings me to my main reason for joining your fine looking forum here. I hope that by looking through the various showcase threads here, as well as starting my own log, will help keep me motivated and on top of my painting. I may wander around a bit, but i fully expect to spend most of my time in the painting sections. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to seeing you all around the forums.
