Hi all!
I'm posting today to spread the word about two events which friends and I are working hard on making a reality - The 2nd Annual Halo Fleet Battles and Ground Command events at Adepticon.
This will be the first event now that both these game are community-supported. If you're a fan of these titles, please consider joining in! See the links below for more details, and please mark yourself as 'Going' on the Facebook event so we can get a good early head count!

Well, in something of good news, in the near future the remaining HFB Vanguard and select members will start to work on a HFB community FAQ, like the BFG 2010FAQ. We'll see what happens!

It really wasn't. Basically, he took units that were completely different from what I was expecting, then rolled exceedingly well and one-shot a cruiser, and all my stuff died (err, escaped back to the warp...yes...).

Unfortunately you can't have any solos either. If you take a single escort in your entire fleet for a game then that's possible, but if you ever take more than one then they must be grouped into a squadron, no options.

No. Consider your overall list as a single big 2000 point army list. With that, you do need to have all escorts in squadrons of 2-6. You'll have to reroll the leaderships on a per-squadron basis then.
The only time you can change up squadrons per game is for capital ships.

Personally I think the 2010 FAQ SM fleets are more than sufficient for the fleet. Plenty of variety and still limited, exactly as they should be. The shield upgrade is there as well; it's not just the province of BFG:XRABFfdfvbc... lol

Question: 9 bonus renown? Wouldn't it be 6? (+3 for playing assigned game, +3 for 3 extra games)
