The Pavilus Binary War / Quick Update

So, after 10 campaign turns my friend Matt and I decided to wrap up our first run at this campaign a couple of months ago.

Overall, the campaign went really well. We found some holes in the rules that need patching, and a few elements we want to add. We're planning to start a second go at the campaign starting in September. We're looking to add at least one more player to the mix, so it should be fun!

My goal with this second run is to try and generate some content for MBS out of it...I'm thinking some videos, as well as some blog/substack posts.

The Americans had been patrolling near Paramaribo in the territory of the Netherlands, as part of a diplomatic effort to win their support at the Hague.  However, the nearby British and French were not happy to see an American force so close to their Spheres of Influence.  A Fleet for each power was deployed from Georgetown and Cayenne (respectively) as a precaution and a warning. 

However, they did not realize that the American flotilla was commanded by Rear-Admiral Thomas, a notoriously aggressive commander.  As the three fleets began to converge just north of the border with Brazil, the Europeans soon realized their error.  The American commander raised the battle colors and signaled for the other two fleets to stand-down.  The two European commanders declined the offer and battle was soon joined.

Set-up
Our table was a 4ft-by-4ft board, and each MU was 1 inch.  The Americans and British took opposite corners, and the French were in the center on the far side.  The Americans and British deployed high and fast, with the French going at mid-range and speed. 

There were no clouds or cloud cover.  There were a few rock formations at 1-4 altitude.

The Shipyard / May fourth

The same as last year, May fourth snuck up before I knew it, and I had no plans for a Star Wars project.  With even less time than in 2024, see the post under first pass, I decided to not even model a ship, but to model not the ship...



...by making a mold I solved two problems, first being that less time would be required for a subject with softer details, and second, the presses from these molds would be so easily handleable, to the point of disposability, that I would not have to worry about their use by children.  The great paradox of modeling is that the more time I have put into any subject, the more concerned about anyone else handling / breaking it.  These test pieces loosely from episodes 4,5,6 in some ways held up better than I expected, and fell down in other ways, specifically issues with removal.  Version two will have these individuals being placed onto disc pedestals so they should be much easier to take out of the molds.

Here is a pilot and wingman from beige squadron ambushing a wing of TIEs, more to come later...

I thought there were more LTA modelers, but could not find any of the ones I remembered from years ago, and do not know how many survived into the post-Shapeways world...

Greetings all,

In the US, I have been having a hard time getting my hands on the Imperial Skies Range from Brigade.  I love the models, but with the new climate it is tough to get things from across the pond. 

Is there a good place to find some STL files for Aeronef style ships?  I want to add a fleet or two to my Castles in the Sky fleets.
