Traveling with paint

I'm wondering if anyone has first hand experience flying with paints and hobby supplies.

A search online found a handful of people saying "yeah I do it all the time." And another handful of people saying "I wouldn't even try."

I've done it before, putting it in my checked luggage (safely isolated in a zip-loc baggie, of course!). Seemed like a non-issue. You will probably be OK taking it through the TSA line in your carry-on, as long as you follow all of the TSA liquid rules. I've had guys tell me stories of how they worked on painting their minis mid-flight  .

The TSA rules allow acrylic paints as long as it fulfills their other regulations.
I use mostly citadel pots which I feel would be more prone to opening. I was thinking of just wrapping some electrical tape around the top.
I just can't find anyone that gives some concrete examples of traveling.

Well, I took some paint on my trip and it worked just fine (I didn't get as much accomplished as I thought I would, but what can you do).
I ended up taking about 12 paints in a quart sized bag and I just wrapped around the lid with some electric tape just in case. I took them in my carry on and had no problems.
