New Halo and Firestorm Commanders

Looks like Spartan has commissioned an artist to make new commanders for Halo and Firestorm. I love the look of those Dindrenzi characters. They look tough as nails and you can just feel the hatred! The Terran commanders look appropriately incompetent also.
I haven't used the commander in the System Wars book, but I really like the commander mechanic in Halo. Maybe if they expand this idea the Firestorm commanders will see some use in my games.

Very cool. I wouldn't mind seeing the Fleet Commander mechanic from Halo ported over to both Firestorm AND Dystopian Wars, to be honest.

I agree completely. I like it a lot, and I think it adds a neat component to the game. If you notice on the description that the artist gives the Firestorm Commanders she says "Made for A6 Statistics Cards for print." So it sounds like that they are planning to print them in a similar fashion to the Halo commanders.

These would be a fantastic addition to their other fleet games!

(Assuming they're balanced appropriately, and side-fleets without them aren't disadvantaged ... )

Good point about the side fleets. Given the number of factions available in both Firestorm Armada and DW, I wonder if Spartan would create commanders for all of them? Or maybe just a generic Kurak and Zenian commander?

That'd be the easiest route, or just note which core Commanders can double for Alliances.

Doing at least one for each race would be smart though in getting some actual ART out there. Saying what Veydreth kinda look like doesn't convey jack compared to ONE pic.
Though judging from their samples so far, its all pretty much human-centric. Just like humans to always assume they should come first...

For the alliance races I imagine it would end up being a generic commander and perhaps some overlap from the core races.
