Minor Upgrades, Repairs, and Tweaks

As mentioned in the global announcement, avatars are now working. Additionally, I've added the ability to make global announcement, as well as two buttons at the top of the page that link to the site main page and the blog (before, there was no way to easily access those pages from the forum).

I noticed the buttons first thing--I like them.  To get to the blog from the forum, if there wasn't already a link in a post, I would go to a new page and hit my ManBattlestations.com favorite link button.

Yeah, that was exactly my issue, as well. It was kind of driving me nuts, and I own the place! Of course, in the process of implementing these changes, it appears that I have somehow broken the smileys now...

Finally got the smiley issue corrected; I had to call in to tech support to get them to in-freeze the folder.

Yesterday all the posts had a white background; today the posts have lighter/darker alternating bluish grey backgrounds.

Edit Hmmmm, it may have more to do with this laptop's display, ambient light and the angle of the screen...

I haven't noticed any change from the bluish backgrounds.  It may have something to do with your display.

It may be. Right now I am using Chrome and all the backgrounds [except quoted material] look white. And I like that better. It is easier to read.
