Very nice looking fleets! I'm glad you put up some more pictures. Like Landlubber mentioned on your welcome thread, I really like the unconventional look to your CoA forces. The light blue-grey of your Blazing Sun fleet looks great too!

If you don't mind me asking, what techniques are you using on your models? It looks like a mixture of washing and highlighting.

Yeah Thats mostly it. The Spartan Games Stuff takes to washes very well and I basically choose the color and go from there with highlighting. Eventually i will add some airbrush work too on future projects but mostly i stick to simple and effective.

You're welcome  . One of the thing's I'm impressed by is your level of control over the washes; for example, I love how each of the ball turrets on the flanks of your CoA BB are evenly shaded. Your work has an impressive quality of depth that really makes them feel "big."

Do you do a lot of dry brushing? It is one of my stock in trades when it comes to Spartan models. I too have toyed with the idea of airbrushing, though my lack of time and a dedicated setup has put that on the back burner for now.

Mostly i use the inks to get in the groves and work up from there with highlights. So i don't do that much drybrushing. However on some surfces it is a godsend. Also i like your sweet tutorial on the french fleet. The white and blue  came out sharp!

Thanks! When I finally get around to painting my RoF ground forces, I'm planning on using the same basic scheme, but with earth tones instead.

I have to admit, I've always thought that the blended highlight technique you use ultimately produces better looking paint jobs.  I've yet to master it; it's just that I've found dry brushing gives me a "good enough" result for table-top quality minis .

Just a few pics of the Prussian and KoB Starters I got in the mail today. I hope to have every fleet starter soon and I can start up a quick group for the local area.

Very simple base coat for these and as yet very WIP. I'll put up finished ones to see where they come from.

You're certainly getting paint on these new ship models quick.  It definitely helps with recruiting new players when you have multiple painted fleets to offer for a demo game.
