Heard about this the other day. Very interesting to see what they do to develop this tech! Use in buildings seem to be the initial place to use them.

If these fields can indeed rob the kinetic energy of an explosion, then no doubt there's a down-the-road application for use versus bullets and projectiles.

True, it's really only a matter of time before this or a more advanced version comes online. Hehe...online...shields...funny to me. Early versions of this I see working well on ships, especially those with heavy point defense systems. Add in the latest developments in laser weaponry already being put on these boats, and VOILA! A sheild!

When they say that the layer of air is ionized to plasma I'm confused what they mean. From my rudimentary natural science knowledge I thought plasma is the next step above gas. So I always thought the most common way we see plasma is in lightning. So from the sounds of their description the vehicle would be surrounded in an instantaneous layer of lightning... Which would in turn basically vaporize everything coming into contact with it.

Does someone that can 'science' better then I can have any thoughts about that?
