Dreadfleet?
« on: February 08, 2015, 11:06:58 pm »
I have an opportunity to pick up Dreadfleet for about $70.00.  For those that have played is it worth it?

I've never played but I have seen portions of a couple games.
It looks interesting to me. However, like with many one-off GW games, I find they get stale quickly.
Of course my opinion can't be counted for much as I haven't played!

It is a neat set...everything in it has very nice production values, from the models to the playing mat. You just have to know going in that it is an entirely self-contained thing; more board game than miniatures game. I haven't done much to mine other than purloin the mat to use with other games, but from what I hear thenminisnare somewhat more difficult than Spartan's stuff to paint to a nice standard.

That mat works very nicely for Dystopian Wars, I know that much. I have had many an FSA ship sunk on the Dreadfleet mat!  :(
