Dystopian Wars Demo Set

A couple months ago I volunteered to paint the Dystopian Wars demo models for my FLGS. They gave me the models and I promptly forgot about the project. 

Fast forward to today, and they're finally done. One cruiser and three frigates each for the Federated States of America and the Covenant of Antarctica.



This was my first time using white as a main hull color. It wasn't too bad on these ships, as all four are pretty small, but I would NOT want to try this on a large ship. The white is pretty unforgiving, and I had to spend a lot of time going back to fix blemishes from the other colors. But, I'm happy with the final product.





For the FSA, I went with a theme that I've experimented with on my own FSA models. Again, pretty happy with the final result.

Wow I'm really impressed. I like those white covenant ships a lot.
These are going to look good and probably attract some attention in the cabinet.

The white really was difficult, especially since I was drybrushing the metallic colors (all those gun "nodes" up and down the sides of the cruiser, for instance), so the ships were quite a mess until I cleaned them up. If you could see them up close, you'd notice you can see some colors under the white overcoat. But at tabletop distance, I don't think it's too pronounced.

Yes, hopefully they will garner some attention for the game at my FLGS. We shall see. The best way for people to get interested in a game is to see other people playing it, and unfortunately no one ever wanders over to check out Dystopian Wars when I play at that store. But, I digress...that's a rant for a different time and discussion thread...
