It was fun but there are almost no mercenaries. We feel sad 😂

Sorry about that! If it makes them feel any better, they can go home and take a nap on that pile of cash the Italians paid them  ;D

Thanks for the photos! I had fun, but the FSA were a bit OP. delete the bomber, one squadron of Augustas and one carrier.
Up the escorts to three for the remains carrier.

I plan to set up a game at Historicon.  A version of the Vauban game.
Simply eliminate the Vauban in four turns, two Grand alliance forces, one trailing and one intercepting. Guest appearances by small but powerful Mercenary and Pirate forces that can drop in or out of the game. They will gain by picking off (capturing) wounded/weak units from either side.
Looking at Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Looking forward to hearing how the Historicon demo went! Along with what else was seen there!

Tentatively looking at the 6th as the next possible game day. What August look like for the rest of you gents?

As of now the 6th is good. The rest of August will not- I am on a trip from the 13th to the 25th. I plan to go to Nova on Labor Day weekend.
Ruck dog, might we try the Fleet Action rules before the 6th? I am trying to find out if I like them.

Played the Jutland  game- A line of Dreadnoughts and BBs.
One side had two FSA Enterprises with shields, an Independence with rockets, a Liberty with rockets,  A KoB Dread with a Guardian generator (3/2), (which covered the Liberty) a KoB BB and a SQUADRON of two KoB BCs all in a tight line 31 inches from my side that had RoF and Prussians. We had a (I played the French) Mark I Magenta with guns and a Mark II Magenta with the Heat lance, a Charlemagne, A Blucher, two Emperors, a third BB (Kaiser Karl?) and a Squadron of two Koningsbergs.
the Charly , teleported the Independence on its first activations, the Prussian BCs hurt the KoB BB and a KoB BC, emperors did very little until the end and the Blucher did little on its first turn (3 Dice/turret) but hurt them after that. The FSA big boys basically whiffed on the Charly the first turn (whew) as did his Liberty.
More later Gotta go to work- but suffice to say the French/Prussians won

The allied line was lead by the KoB and then the FSA.
We were in a line with he BCs and Prussians at the front and the Magentas at the end. All the Prussians took Shields and Tesla generators when available- Emperors get Shields (3). T
I thought they would crush us. Magentas instead of a least one La Rochelle? Hmmm, I don't think he had the model. We did have one more ship. That said the Emperors were completely useless the first 1 1/2 turns, shooting 5 dice.

The Kob BCs had gone first in the game and had done small damage to the Prussian BCs.
The Prussian had started off with the BCs hitting the KoB BB hard. The Kob BB turned in to attack the Kaiser Karl and the BCs-- and bounced. Damage and crits were already having an effect. The KK followed up by closing and putting more hurt on the poor KoB BB. It was not going well for the allies. A lot of  counter punching ships after they came in Range.
The KoB Dread turned to shoot and did little, The rear turrets were masked and the torps bounced off the CC and shields of an Emperor.

I had closed with the French dread and struck the Small FSA BB getting two crits and rolling 12 on the second, sending the Independence 8 inches left on the far side of their gun line. This seemed to dishearten the Allies. I thought it a minor victory and the best result they could expect from the natural 12 I rolled. It took 5 HP and a minor CH- either AP or steering-pretty light considering. AP was not going to come into play in this game- at least if the judge could help it. I dreaded (sorry) the counter blows from the FSA dreads. But one whiffed and the the hit a Magenta for a single HP. They were combining rockets vice launching two volleys. The Cloud generator and Retardant Armor came through. The rockets did nothing. I left the Magentas till last.  One did a crib effect but only one HP- more Nav lock.
They went first in the second round and pounced on our BCs with their BCs and attacked the KK. They hit one BC for minor damage. Our BCs struck back hurting one of theirs and,...you guessed it slamming the KoB BB. The FSA dread hit my Dread and got a crit, rolled a 7 for 1 AP. I hit the untouched FSA Dread with the French Dread Heat lance and took out his generators. No Shields! By the end of the second turn they had two FSA Dreads, with 5 and 6 points each. The KoB BB was scrapped- finished off by an Emperor. One BC was trashed and barely afloat. The KoB Dread had only a point or two on it. But, the final straw was the Prussians trashing the Liberty and it blowing up-  a magazine explosion that put points on the KoB Dread and an FSA Dread-- the Allies conceded.

Coalition had no ships scrapped.  My French Dread had 3 hits, one Magenta had two points, and the Prussians
BC had 3 point each, 3-4 points on the Prussian KK nothing on the Prussian Dread or the Emperors.
It was short and sharp.

Re: June Meet-up Historicon demo scenario
« Reply #41 on: July 20, 2016, 11:30:22 pm »
The Scenario had a couple of players wanting re-aquaint with DW V2. One was Store owner that could never get a U.S. distributor that was reliable.
The French Vauban had a super squadron, Ecuyer attachment, three Bayone escorts, and a two Vulcan repair ships. It also had one 5 or 4 SAS squadron CAP. Protected by a La Rochelle and squadrons of 3 Dieppes, 4 Lyons, a Rousseau bomber. Powerful. The FSA had a Liberty with a kinetic generator, a Reinforced Cruiser Squadron, a B-72, 4 Guilfords, 4 Augustas and a Saratoga with a 5 and a 4 SAS squadron. These start over twenty-four inches off the Vauban's starboard quarter. A bit far. The FSA had a second force coming in from ahead of the convoy. This had a second Liberty with as shield, an Annapolis, a San Francisco, a Boston and 4 Augustas. It never got into Play the RoF forces shredded the FSA. The Liberty moved fast with the help of the K-Generator and it took out a Dieppe in one activation. But then the French struck back the Rousseau attacked and got a crit hit. Then the Lyons, followed by the Vauban- it sank. The Rousseau The only unit really close enough, was scrapped, along with two Lyons. The Vauban and the La Rochelle moved away the FSA were just too far away. The game was called after the b-72 was killed.
Nice try.

Unfortunately, I will be out of town 1-15 August for Gencon and visiting family in Indiana. We will have to link up afterwards!
