So, there have been a lot of announcements regarding significant changes to WoWS gameplay. The first is aircraft carriers. Wargaming has shown off a prototype build for a version of carrier gameplay that is a lot more free-flowing and active that the "RTS" style carrier gameplay the game has had so far.
The next is submarines. Wargaming has shown preview footage of this year's Halloween event, which will feature submarines in it. This is a pretty big deal, as Wargaming has said since the game's development that submarines weren't something they were focusing on bringing to WoWS. However, there haven't been any announcements regarding the incorporation of submarines into the full game yet; for now, they are going to be only for the Halloween event. That being said, it is quite possible that they could find their way into the full game if the Halloween event proves to be popular enough.
