Yes, all the optional rules from the campaign books are included (I've certainly been running mixed squadrons of regular cruisers with gunships in my games), except when it comes to scoring Victory Points. The X-Cam, however, was designed with the VP system rather than the Campaign Points. I'm working on an updated campaign system which features the Campaign Points system from Hurricane Season (we used CP rather than VP for scoring in the last tournament event, and I prefer using CP).
