Dystopian Wars Day

So I’ve gotten to play a few games of Dystopian Wars here recently and I forgot how much I enjoy the game. I know there are several of us in the area who still play or still have fleets. I was thinking we could get together for a Dystopian Day? Maybe take a Saturday and play a mini escalation league...600, 900, and 1200-point games or something like that.

I’ve got Adepticon next weekend and April is pretty crazy for me, and I know that some of us (Dale) need about 60 days’ notice for scheduling games.  . So...what do you guys think? Maybe a day in May or June?

I'm game, and May 4th or 11th is wide open so far. I still have enough sea and air Prussians to do some damage. :-)

So I have enough sets for my girl and I and a +1 of someone has a friend interested or if I speed paint I can host like 6 people per side at that point level fsa vs empire

I would be down for the 4th of may. Cant on the 11th due to me and wifes birthday that day.

May 4th is out for me...Star Wars Day. I'll be at Gamer's Haven playing Star Wars Legion. My only other free Saturday in May is the 11th...we could shoot for that day (sorry Warhawk) or punt to early June? I'm thinking we try to do a Saturday as game stores are usually open later. Or, we could try for a Sunday (12 May?) and just do one game apiece, maybe at the 1200/1250 point level. The intent really is just to get as many Dystopian Wars players together in one spot so we can roll dice and sink ships and check out each other's fleets.

Also, I was thinking Collectormania would be first choice for location. If not there, then I'd try for Gamer's Haven in the Springs.

12th is Mother's Day, which might cause issues for some.
11th at either Haven or Collectormania is fine for me

I wonder if FFG will have the new LEGION starter out by the 4th? My Separatists will have grievances to air!

I'll give it another day or so and see if anyone else wants to weigh in. If not, I'll see about securing Collectormania on the 11th.

I doubt FFG will have the Clone Wars starter out by May 4th. Everything on their site says 3rd Quarter release...I'm guessing we'll see them at the end of the summer.

how does say the 18/19 look for peoples schedules right now?

I'm not available after the second weekend, however if that weekend works better for everyone else we could try for that. I still haven't called Collectormania. Any one else want to weigh in? 11th vs 18/19?

OK. I spoke to the guys at Collectormania about the 11th and the 18th of May. The 11th is their 40k day (or Age of Sigmar, one of the two) and they usually have a good turnout, so there likely wouldn't be any room for Dystopian Wars that day. However, the 18th is open...no other events. So I had Eric at Collectormania reserve three of the 4x6 tables for Dystopian Wars that day. The reservation is under my name and the tables will be available as soon as they open at 10.

Sorry Dakkar; hopefully you can make it that day! I unfortunately will not be able to attend due to vacation plans, but that shouldn't stop you other admirals from getting your ships and unlimbering your guns! Whoever does attend, please take some pics and post them up here on MBS. Eric said he'd spread the word around the Collectormania population as well; I guess there are still a few Dystopian Wars players hanging around out there.

So, Hypnotini, my original thought was some sort of escalation league kind of day...but DW can be a long game to play. My original intent was just to bring as many DW players together as possible for gaming and networking and keeping the game afloat, so to speak--you came back up on the net right after I had met and played DW with a new opponent in the Denver area, and it got me to thinking that we hadn't done a DW day in quite awhile. And now unfortunately I can't go, but if this one gets a good draw maybe we can do another later in the summer.
