Thanks. Not to sure of how easy a target these new ones are, as they have yet to appear in my 2.0 lists. Perhaps our next engagement they will. Personally, and i'm sure i've said this before, painting is one of my favorite parts about this game. Thanks to all for the kind words, its very motivating!

WIP of the day

Bought a Dremel and some of the old style turrets from Spartan. Still need to dull down the "Blueness" of the hull, and do some touch up...Getting too distracted with trying to catch up several models at once.  :-[

Also I highly suggest AGAINST magnets! Nothing but a horrible experience...On everything since i have been using these https://texastoysoldieronline.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=4175

Agree on the turrets. The old style are better.
Like your Freedoms. Wish they could be taken as a Squadron.
All your models have great detail. No short cuts. The Spartan models have so much detail that when paint carefully the really are display models for a mantle.
The 'easy to hit' referred to the Princeton paint scheme- Stands out. :) I like it.
I really like the new Princeton stats. It is like a low cost BC.  Squadrons of 1-3 with a (2) Shield, high angle Bombard with Sustained fire (1), for 95 pts. I kinda always want to take at least one.

Can you elaborate on those little things, how they're used?

Oh man, how I miss the squad of four Freedoms. Rolling in and firing on a squad of Uwatsu... :-\ ...good times... If I can master the Dremel, may try freeing up the Freedoms arms. ZING! Have to say, these are some of the most fragile models out there. Granted being able to hide obscured, and restoring the (now) amazing quick ascent is a serious bonus. Not to mention the secondary linking...just gotta survive the trip...

Can you elaborate on those little things, how they're used?

Super easy! So they have this hallow tear drop shape. Glue the smaller end to the model, leavening the larger hallow end open. Once it's dry the open end can fit on the end of a flight stand pretty easy. In some cases I had to scrape a bit of the stand down, but ya still want it relatively tight. The extra surface area in contact allows the model to not spin on the stand, and grips it when picking up for movement. Just as easy a little tug pops them loose for storage. Love um!

The Princeton's are most definitely Ivy League now. Was rick rolled by indirect fire last game against Long Nines Italian's. Even at a 5+ it's deadly...shudder to think what 3 of them could do from behind cover. ???

Very impressive! The metallics and clean lines on this really pop. It's an impressive beast of a model; I hope mine comes out as nice when I finall get around to painting it!

Looking good, looking good. I like the varied metallic colors, good steampunk feel to the model. I may steal your idea for painting the generator; that little ball of green really pops compared to the colors around it.

Thanks! I'm really happy with the direction this fleet is going in. Totally feel free to use the generator style! I'm actually working on the glow effect to them now.

Been trying to catch up the merchants and terrain bits lately, as well. Here are a couple shots of the Titan class.

Neat! I like the blue-grey you used on the hull. I really need to dig mine out and paint it one of these days...

Thanks. When i get home i'll put up the name of the blue I used. It was neither Citadel or my go to Vallejo, so don't recall the name. Also going to post some picks of the Oil Rigs and Georgetowns now that they are done.

Haven't seen the one of the troop carriers painted up in awhile. All those portholes must have taken forever! Looks good, though, very good.

The portholes weren't to bad. Most of the holes didn't accept the paint when doing the hull, so there were all these little primer white dots. Picked up one of the tiniest brushes I could find, then poked away!

Working on a less "fancy" version to be a legit Troop Carrier. Another task to take on...
