Not too long ago I finished my Sorylian patrol fleet for FS:A - here's a picture of my Skyhammer unit (the cruisers in the center).

Thanks just a little experiment that turned out verry well i must say.
Its sand with colored pva glue over it.
Color is comming from inkt that you use to refill printer cardridges with.
You can create some very nice effects with it.

Ruckdog posted a message over on the ForuMini about this contest.  I thought I'd try my luck.  Thanks Ruckdog!

My Japanese WWII "What If" battle line.  From left to right:  Amagi, Tanigawa (battlecruiser design 65), Tosa and Hyuga (as she started the war...she was converted to a hybrid carrier).  These are all 3D printed models from Shapeways.

Thanks,

Grgbobe

They look great! One of these days I'm going to have to try my hand at some Shapeways minis.

Hi guys its been a while, Im glad you guys posted a reminder at Forumini because it had completely slipped my mind until last week. There are some fabulous submissions in this years contest, mostly Sci-Fi stuff, but I have to say the work on these is simply breath-taking. Please allow me to add my submission for this years contest:

Only posting 2 images because the pattern is different on both sides:

This model is painted using a combination of Citadel, Vallejo and Art Spectrum acrylics, all the port holes have been drilled using a pin vice before base-coat. The model is an exact replica of HMS Renown as she appeared after her first refit in October 1941. The pattern is an Admiralty Disruptive Pattern, in 507C, B5, MS1 & MS3. The model has been base-coated with a darkened Codex Grey before a wash of Badab Black, the entire model was then dry brushed with a lightened Fortress Grey before being hi-lighted. The pattern was then applied using pre-mixed B5 a combination shade using Shadow Grey as base, as too is the MS3 a combination of Codex Grey and Camo Green with Vallejo Black. The deck is done with a mixture of Sunburst Yellow and Bleached Bone, before a wash of Vallejo Wood Grain Transparent. The entire model is then washed again in a watered down Badab Black wash and hi-lights are added using above colour palette.

Thank you for your consideration, and well done to Man Battlestations for putting on this event for the gaming community.

Cheers all and good luck to everyone. :) :) :)

Dan
