Upon closer inspection I could do the 10th (Saturday only) or either day on the weekend of the 24th.

The 24th is now out for me, will be spending the day at the National Western Stock Show.

Sounds like the 10th it is!  Looks like Collectormania has Pathfinder that day, but I don't see anything else that would interfere.  If we're good with the 10th, I'll call and confirm with them.

Side note, I was talking to Greg and was thinking that maybe we should try to alternate games by quarter.  Since we've got Firestorm coming up for Genghis, we'd probably start first quarter of 2015 (Jan, Feb, March) with Firestorm Armada, then move to either DW or Planetfall for the second quarter.  Thoughts?

The 10th works for me. Noon-ish start time, or before? My better half is out of town that day, so I'm free pretty much the whole day until 1930 or so.

I like the alternating by quarter idea, at least as far as alternating DW and FA. Not all of us have bought into the other systems yet, though. But here's a thought--could we do one quarter of non-Spartan naval-type games? Might be a good opportunity for some of us to introduce others to new games. I know I have enough X-Wing minis to run two games at once, and QuickDraw (Chris) probably has enough to do the same thing.  And I've heard some of you guys talk about some older space combat games--Babylon 5, BFG, etc. Speaking solely for myself here, I wouldn't mind giving some of those games a try.

Just an idea. Variety is the spice of wargaming.

The quarterly changes sound like a good idea. But I also agree with Greg, we could try some new stuff as well. I have plenty of X-Wing pieces and could easily play two games at once. I played battlefleet gothic years ago a few times and would happily play again.
Perhaps our schedule could be Firestorm, Dystopian, "other games", and then Planetfall (that way those that may not have bought in yet could possibly have a force by then).

The 10th should work for me ... I just need to confirm what day Machelle is hitting the Denver Stock Show. :-)

I like the alternating idea, and the proposed sequence (though I'd rather Planetfall before DW, but can go either way).

As for mixing it up, the third month of each quarter could be a variety game. I'm well set for Star Trek Attack Wing (and can lend multiple fleets), X-Wing, Babylon 5 Call To Arms (again multiple fleets, minis or chits), War Rocket, and don't forget we'll have STAR WARS ARMADA on our hands before we're ready for it.

For the Springs crowd, I'll be working up to a short Firestorm campaign, followed late year by an Integrated Armada-Planetfall campaign.

I was hoping someone was going to bring up War Rocket.  :) That's a game I really want to get in to, but I've been stuck in a Firestorm Armada arms race with you people...

I like that War Rocket is a quick, little-to-no bookkeeping game. I think you could probably knock out 2-3 War Rocket games in the time it takes for one Firestorm game. Plus, the minis are KILLER, which is what I noticed first about the game. According to Ed, there are several people at the Haven that have a fleet or two apiece, but it just never gets played.

It just needs a set play day, published far out enough for folks to make arangements to attend. And a clear stipulaiton on limited upgrades so the games aren't dominated by someone bringing 20 one-shot missiles.

I'd be good with making the third month of ever quarter a wild-card to throw in new games.  I just don't want us to drift too far from our Spartan focus (for purely selfish reasons).

I'd be fine with that. And I agree with you--I have enough money tied up in Spartan resin that I need to make sure those fleets (be they on water or in vacuum) see the light of day at least a couple times a month. But tossing in the odd game of War Rocket or BFG or X-Wing or Attack Wing would help keep things fresh.

Sounds good to me!

How about 1100 this Saturday at Collectormania?  Lets plan for 800pt fleets so we can try out the opening scenario from the con.

Please confirm if you plan to attend.  So far I've got me, Dale, Mark, and Greg.  Anyone else?

Sounds like a plan. I'll send a note to some of the guys on the Spartan forums who live in the area.

I'm pretty much confirmed now. Should I bring Aquans, Dindrenzi, or Relthoza?
