Any thoughts on an Aug meet-up?  We've got Tacticon coming up 3- 6 Sept.  I don't know of any Spartan stuff at the Con.  I'm free trade weekends of 8 and 22 Aug.

22 or 23 August would work for me.

Real Life interfered this summer with any Tacticon plans I had. Plus, to be honest, I wasn't real impressed with the Tacticon 2014, and every time I try to look at their website it's not working, so whatever--I'm not planning on going.

Are we still in the Firestorm phase for August, or did you guys burn yourselves out in that massive game yesterday?  :D

Perhaps it would be a good day for a HALO test run? Though I had in mind some PLANETFALL teaching actually...

Why not do both, if we can get two tables? I'll be familiar enough by then with the rules to run at least a couple people through a demo game, I think. Plus, with 49 models in the starter set, it might be possible to break up forces on each side so multiple people can try it.

I actually still have not played a game of Planetfall, would like to give it a shot.

I'm always eager to teach. I am free this Saturday afternoon if anyone wants a game or demo.
Sadly, I can't stay into the evening for the usual gamer's haven Saturday Night Planetfall ... gotta go scuff boots at Cowboys. :-)

Ah, Dale, ignore my post in the other thread about the 22nd....  :-[ Yeah, I'm up for Halo on the 22nd.

OK folks, we're a couple weeks out.

August 22nd--which is a Saturday--looks pretty busy at Collectormania. There's a Pathfinder Society special event that day at the store. No idea what's planned at Gamer's Haven on the 22nd, I'm not familiar with their normal Saturday traffic, but I do know they tend to be pretty busy on Saturdays.

Could anyone do Sunday the 23rd instead of Saturday the 22nd? There is a Magic event going on that day at Collectormania (which I'm gathering is pretty normal for them), but we've played there before with Magic events going on and it hasn't been too difficult. I know Sundays are slower at Gamer's Haven; Quickdraw and I were in there last week playing Halo and the store was only about half full.

I could do either day, but I think we'll have better luck on the 23rd. And from earlier discussions, looks like it might be a combination Halo/Planetfall day? I'm happy to teach some Halo, and would be happy to learn some Planetfall.

Thoughts?

I can do the 23rd if that works better.

I'm iffy for the 23rd. I'd already "set aside" for Saturday and planned D&D right after in the evening :-)
Also, Sunday is Steelers vs Packers - I think it's obligatory that Troy and I find a viewing venue and trash talk.

But I'm also not essential to these :-)

I'd prefer to keep it to the 22nd as well, and would be happy to drive if that means we have to play at the Haven.  What about Enchanted Grounds?  According to their calendar all they have that day is something called the Tarot Group.  They also open at 7am, so we could get an early start.

I've been wanting a reason to finally hit Enchanted...

Talked to Ed at the Haven. There's a Warhammer fantasy event going on that day (22 Aug); he thinks there *might* be a table or two open, but can't guarantee anything.

Enchanted Grounds is hosting a Hero Clix event starting at 1000. The guy I spoke to told me to email their scheduling person to see if he thinks they'll have space available. They have 2x6' tables that they can push together to make a 4x6', and they also have 4x4' tables they can push together. Also, just be aware, Enchanted Grounds does not carry any Spartan Games products that I'm aware of. When I moved to Denver in 2013 and asked them if there were any Dystopian players at the store, they had never even heard of Spartan.

I'll email their scheduler. How many 4x6' tables do we think we'll need? The 4x4' tables would actually work great for Halo, but I'm not sure about Planetfall.

One table for each, or we just use one table and do the quick 2hr HALo tryout, then switch the table over to Planetfall.

Also, we'll need to sort out some PFall terrain if EG doesn't have anything to scale...

And yeah, I hesitate to play there if they don't even know what Spartan Games is. But if the other stores want to pick different horses, what can we do... maybe we'll get some attention there.
