So they told me I can't reserve this far in advance.  So I'll check next week.  If it turns out that we don't get a spot, I live less than 10 minutes away and I have a full 4x8 gaming table and space set up in my basement.

@Landlubber:

So EG2 on Bowles got back to me and said that they have a Magic tournament on Saturday and they have no space.  So we can either use my basement, find another store, or maybe change to Sunday.  I want to play some Halo, so just let me know what you want to do.

If they're having a Magic tournament, other stores may also be having a Magic tournament. I could do Sunday, or we could do Saturday in your basement (need at least a 4x4' table). It's probably a short drive for me to get over to your place if you live near EG2, so it would be dumb for us to meet at Collectormania which is a bit of a drive for both of us.

So I'm flexible, let me know what you think.

@Landlubber

Good game.  Thanks for showing me Halo Fleet.  Looking forward to the grounds stuff now.

No problem! Thanks for hosting. I have game-space envy.  :P

Should be getting Halo Ground Command this week; planning to get the models assembled and painted a fast as I can. I doubt they'll be ready for Tacticon, but I think I should have them ready for the Spartan Games Day at the Haven on 17 September.

Once the models are ready and I've had time to read through the rules, I'll be happy to give demo games for Ground Command.

Base coated is probably good enough for Tacticon, given the new shiny factor :-)

True. I've read online in a couple places that assembly is a little tricky. Plus, I need to learn how to flock infantry bases, something I've never done before.

For the Spartan day on the 17th, would anyone be interested in fighting some DW against the Martians?  I can't stay into the evening, so a full-on mega-battle would be hard, but we could probably do a table of me against 2-3K of combined arms.

I need to teach Scott Steiner some more Planetfall, but otherwise I'll be your huckleberry :-) Previous efforts by the European powers have tried and failed to defeat the Alien. Obviously only the Japanese have the karma and virtue necessary to succeed!
However, I do propose that the battle be a Naval Scenario, so I can use the models I actually have - plus the soon to be assembled Giant Samurai Robot!

FYI, I think DW is 1-5 or 2-6 or somesuch, so we should fit in the afternoon slots. Planetfall isn't until the evening.

So....anyone up for a gaming day in October? Keeping in mind the Haven is having their annual anniversary bash on the 29th of October. I could play the 9th or 16th--have to play on the weekends now that college football has started.

Let me know what you all think.

Also, I'm probably going to run a "sink the dreadnought" Dystopian Wars scenario at the Haven anniversary event.

I might be able to do a game around the 16th. I'll have to check my schedule when I get back in Washington.
