Thanks all for coming out today! Was good to see a few faces that we hadn't seen in awhile. Sorry you guys from the Springs couldn't make it up, but I'm sure the weather wasn't the best--it started snowing at Collectormania shortly after we started.
After spending an hour building fleet lists for Halo: Fleet Battles and tracking down a misplaced fleet commander card, I left the house without my Fleet Battles stands.
So, Warhawk and I played Dystopian Wars (his KoB against my FSA), while Zorper showed BrdingPrty the ropes with Halo: Ground Command. MarkyMark showed up a little late and professionally observed both games.
BrdingPrty apparently obliterated Zorper's UNSC--we think it was beginner's luck.
Warhawk and I pounded back forth on each other's fleets, eventually fighting to a standstill. I think the KoB probably won on points, but it was pretty close. Warhawk's KoB fleet is really nicely-painted:
He managed to pack a dreadnought and a battleship into a 1000-point list, so I had my work cut out for me. Luckily I brought the FSA's heavy battleship, the
Liberty-class. I whiffed a couple of main turret rolls, but overall I think I did well against the dreadnought.
This was also my first time using my new gaming mat. After having played on other people's mats, I had to get one of these for myself. Definitely worth the money.
I'm not going to plan a games day in February due to Genghis Con, as it falls on the third weekend in February. So the next will be the third Sunday in March--the 19th--back at Collectormania.
