Same here. My Big Halo Shipment is supposed to be here tomorrow, so I'll try to have my new Valiants, Halberds, and ADPs ready! Will plan to bring both UNSC and Covenant fleets, plus a couple DW fleets (likely French and FSA).

Just bumping this for visibility. We've got two tables at Collectormania in Parker from 1100-1700 (open to close) on 17 September. I'm bringing fleets, terrain, and mats for Dystopian Wars and Halo Fleet Battles. Come out and play if you can!

I'll be stopping by for model delivery and to say hi, but probably can't play.

But if anyone wants more of my for sale stuff, let me know so I bring it up! :-)

Looks like I can make it on Sunday.  I'll bring DW stuff but I'd prefer the Fleet games.

Hey so for this weekend if we do DW are we doing 2.0 or 2.5 and how many points roughly so I can come somewhat prepared? I also just picked up some stuff for Star wars armada as that game intrigues me so might bring those with also just in case to give that a go.

We can do 2.5. The game basics are the same, and I think I can help out with making sure we're sticking to the rules. I only ever got the electronic rulebook though.

Off the top of my head, the biggest changes are the critical hits table, the addition of the "punishing critical hit" (exceed your target's CR and then get enough hits to match/exceed his DR, giving 3HP loss and a critical effect), and boarding. Fleet composition, movement/maneuvering, and shooting are all pretty much the same. Just make sure you have the 2.5 stats for whatever fleet you're bringing. Also, local air support is now dictated by the point size of your fleet, and local air support is ONLY fighters. No free dive bombers!

As for points...how about 1200? I hadn't thought too much about that.

cool sounds good. ill have to look at those changes just to have a better understanding as I know even just the saw/sas rules with carriers changed a little bit to. but will work out 1200 points worth of the blazing sun I think. Since I have close to like 5k now with everything I got from dakkar lol.

Thanks to Warhawk, Zorper, and BrdingPrty1 for coming out to play today. Zorper and BrdingPrty had a game of Halo Fleet Battles, while Warhawk and I duked it out in Dystopian Wars. The Fleet Battles fight looked pretty even, and the Dystopian Wars battle was pretty even as well, with both of us making our objectives (although I think Warhawk got his first). We had more magazine explosions and sturginium flares in that one game than I've seen in my last ten games, I think. I caused his (undamaged) heavy battleship to teleport off the table in a massive sturginium flare, and he wiped out several of my ships when a magazine explosion caused ANOTHER magazine explosion.

Good times.

So keeping with the "third Sunday of the month" model, our next game day would be 15 October at Collectormania. Zorper has already proposed that we play a couple of "other" space naval rule sets (Zorper you'll have to discuss them, I can't remember which ones they are--Starfire? Full Thrust?). I will have family in town that weekend so I won't be able to attend, but that should not stop the group from getting together. I'll give Collectormania a call this week to reserve a couple tables for that day.

Again, thanks to all who were able to come out and roll dice today!

3rd Sunday will run afoul of the 40K tourney I'm already signed up and paid for on the 14th (I try not to push 2 days of gaming in one weekend on Machelle :-) )

I've already blocked out the 19th in Nov though :-)

Have you considered moving it to Saturday instead of Sunday?  Talking to the Collectormania 40K guys last weekend, they usually show up to do miniatures stuff on Sunday.

Saturday is Landlubber collage ball day.  But I'd be open to Saturdays.

HA, yeah, Saturdays in general usually aren't good for me gaming wise--even when it isn't college football season.

That doesn't mean we can't give it a try, but my understanding is that Collectormania is generally much busier on Saturdays with all types of gaming. We've never had an issue getting a table (or two) on a Sunday. Collectormania is usually light on miniatures games on Sundays--which is good, because they only have four 4x6 tables, so it wouldn't too much activity for them to be full.

Plus I think a lot of stores tend to run miniatures tournaments on Saturdays (see Dakkar's post below), so we would possibly have to contend with that as well if we try Saturdays.

But I'm open to whatever the group wants to try.
