Well, today was surely interesting. Stephan wasn't lying--the Invader models are a tough nut to crack.  I'll get a battle report up soon, with pictures. Here's a sneak peek:

I recommend we start thinking now about our November meet-up date, since the major holidays are looming on the horizon.  I could do the 8th, 9th, 16th, or 23rd.  Mark said an idea had been brought up for us to get together for a painting session, instead of a gaming session--I'd be cool with that as well.

If you have dates in mind, post them here!

I'd be down with a painting day and could possibly host.  I don't have my girls the weekends of the 1st, 15th, and 29th, so pairing that up with Mark's dates, looks like the 15th or 16th.

Well, I didn't want to volunteer anyone's house--Mark and I had discussed doing it at Collectormania, as long as the store owners don't mind. Mark's said he's seen people in there painting before. I think it would be cool for us to sit and paint and talk shop.  Based on what I've seen on the table in our games, we have some pretty talented painters in our group, and it might be good to discuss tips and techniques.

Or we could roll dice and blow up ships.  I'd be happy either way.  :D

I could do the 15th or 16th, but my preference would be Sunday the 16th--it is, after all, college football season, and while my Razorbacks have been coming up short their last several games, I do like to try to catch them on TV when I can.

Lol, I'm good with Sunday if that's what we do.  I've got permission from my social coordinator to host at our house if we want to go that route.  I figured we could fire up the grill and throw on some movies for while we paint.  I'd also be good with bringing my mobile painting station to the store if folks would prefer that.  One thing to consider, by the 16th, many of us should have Planetfall in hand......

Wanted to thank everyone who came out for the War of the Worlds game.  I hope everyone had fun despite the butt-whoopin handed out by the Martians.   :P

We'll have to work out a more balance scenario for next time since obviously the Invaders are under-pointed.

I had a great time!  While they are under-pointed, we did a lot of celebrating each time a walker fell.  And what a sweet little victory it was when the first one flared right off the board!

Thanks for the shout out and correction Greg.

The table looks pretty fun. Can't wait to see the write up.

November will be easier for me. And a painting day would be a good time. I'll keep my eyes peeled on the board but the 16th should be fine.

Gentlemen, I was just reminded of a previously scheduled social event at which my presence is required on the 16th.  BUT-- that date seems to work for most everyone else, so let's keep planning for it. If I can slip out of the other engagement, I will. If not, you guys can have fun without me.

I'm also available on Nov 8-9 and 15-16 if we want to move.

I'm taking mom and Jen to Madame Butterfly on the 15th, so I'd be limited to the 16th that weekend.  That said, please don't feel it's necessary to work around all my schedule crazyness.

I think we should stick with the 16th.  With holidays coming, moving dates around can be a pain, and that date has already been proffered..  The 16th looks like a good date for most of us, so I vote we keep it.  I'll attend if I can.

So my previously scheduled engagement doesn't start until 5, so I'm good until about 4 for whatever we end up doing.
