Many thanks to Brad, Chris, and Jason for playing today!
We ended up doing one large game, 1000 points per player. We did two full turns; we could have done three, but we would not have been able to get all the way through the third turn due to the store closing.
Chris ran his Russians, and Jason ran a core Russian force with Polish support (I referred to them collectively as the "Warsaw Pact"; I'm a history nerd, after all). Brad ran a Chinese fleet, and I followed up with my French. I didn't take notes for a proper battle report, but here are some pictures I took over the course of the battle:
I told Jason he needs to order a couple of the large PLC propellers like they have on their heavy frigates to mount on the back of the PLC battleship.
And, we used the infamous Skull Islands again:
Brad and I were able to sink the Russian dreadnought, but GOOD GRIEF it soaked up a LOT of firepower. 12 hull points on that dang thing.
The Imperial Bond forces carried the day, but only because we were able to take down the dreadnought. Our field orders were to kill all their small models, and they had to kill all our large and massive models. We got closer to our goal than they did to theirs, but neither fleet achieved their objectives. If we had gone through a third turn, it might have turned out differently.
Someone else will need to plan our May meeting; the only weekend day I am available that month is the 10th. Plus, I think we're moving into the end of our "Dystopian Quarter", and we had kicked around the idea of playing something different in the last month of the quarter, right? Anyway, I'm up for whatever, but I can only play on the 10th. But, if that day doesn't work for everyone else, no worries, I'll just catch you guys in June.
