Landlubber,

I can meet you tomorrow for some DW. I can be there by 5 at the latest and maybe a bit earlier.

Interested in trying some advance or flank forces? I haven't read the rules for it more than once, and I don't know how familiar you are with it. But, it could be fun to try it out.

Thoughts on points?

Captain Rockman-

I can actually be there between 4 and 4:30, I think. Could you swing that? We'd have a little more time to play.

Sure, we can give advanced/flanking forces a go. I think we need to have a higher point total to do that, though. "Strategic forces", which are made up of flanking, reserves, and advanced forces, cannot contain more than 40% of the total MFV, and cannot contain any large or massive models. So, let's go with 1000 points, core naval (aerial models are fine, but not required), and we can work through the advanced and flanking rules.

Cool?

Landlubber,

I agree to the terms of battle.

I think the earliest my boss will let me out of work is 3:30. That means I could make it over to Crit Castle by 4:30 if I get lucky in traffic. I'll let you know when I leave work.

Excellent.

To keep things interesting, and to add a "fog of war" element, let's keep our force compositions secret until they're on the board. I'm not going to tell you what I'm running in my main and strategic forces; indeed, I'm not going to tell you if I'm even going to have strategic forces. And I don't want to know those details for your fleet either. We can still go through the normal game setup in the rulebook, and we can deploy our forces on the board when they should be deployed, if you have them (so for example, we'll both still roll for flanking forces whether or not we have them, just to keep the other player guessing). I trust that you'll adhere to the force-building rules, and that any mistakes made are honest mistakes, as long as you trust the same of me.

I think this will add a little excitement to the game, not knowing what the other player is going to deploy.

If this sounds good to you, that is.

So I am thinking we should start talking about next Sunday and see who all is coming and the points we are going to do.

Agreed! So for the "big group" games, we coordinate using this thread:

I'll get the discussion going.

Hey Warhawk, was just wondering if you were still around.

I can't play this weekend, but I might be able to play at Crit Castle on Tuesday (28 April). Let me know if that would work for you. I'd be up for either Firestorm or Dystopian as well.
