Spartan Rule Books Available for Download

In the mobile age that we now live in, even wargaming hasn't escaped change - the increasing use of electronic versions of rulebooks is something we see at almost every show and gaming club we go to. Rulebooks are often reviewed by new players before they decide whether to invest in a game, and Spartan Games in consistently asked to make rulebooks available to download so new players can assess our games without cost.

We have decided to make all our core rulebooks available to download FREE from our website as follows:

December 8th - Firestorm Armada

December 17th - Dystopian Wars

January 12th - Dystopian Legions and Firestorm Planetfall

The downloads do not in any way invalidate the current rulebooks, they are NOT a new version of any rules.

Sounds great to me! I'm looking forward to being able to get copies of these rule books to make it easier to run demo games and the like; I can hand the book over to the player I am teaching, and use the electronic version, for example. Not to mention, it will make it easier to attract new players in the first place since they can now get their hands on the rules for free to look over and see if they are interested.

With the paper cutout fleets, I think theblackocean still has them, it makes getting into the game a breeze for new players!

The DW rules finally went live today after a bit of a delay!

That said, I wish Spartan could rein in its game design ADD.  It is ALL OVER the place this year and it's only February!

Not sure what you mean...so far the only announced rules releases for this year are the Halo space game and Spec Ops. It's not like they are announcing a new game every week .

Look, I love me some SG stuff, but I just wish they would focus in!

Fair enough on the KS for their dungeon terrain; not really a rules related thing, but it is another project they announced this year and I had forgotten about it. I would hasten to point out, though, that all of the other things you mentioned were from 2014 or even 2013 (Armored Clash). I also tend to disagree that these other projects have been all that detrimental to Spartan's other games, but YMMV .

Yeah I think Spartan may have gotten off their meds. There are just all over the place right now. As a fan of their games, I would like them to flush the current stuff out a bit more. Look at GW and how they constantly abandoned games that were a success. I'm talking to you Mordehiem! My all Beastmen gang was legit!

Create some jobs, and get separate teams to dive into individual games. Where are the bombers in DW?? Instead of just BAM here's a tease, or completely dropping a new game...draw up the capatalistict marketing machine and really market!...........oh wait you teamed up with Halo
