DW Rhine-class Fleet Carrier
« on: April 15, 2012, 02:16:15 pm »
Here is my Prussian naval carrier. It is a very interesting low-slung design. I've taken to thinking of it as the Doom Canoe!  ;D This is the first DW model I've applied decals to, and I'm happy with how it looks. I'll have to put them on more of my fleet, I think. Here are some pics:

That looks really nice the decals are well placed, I can't imagine that the deck last very long tho!
I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

I have pretty much done the wood planking on all of my DW models the same way. I start with a base coat of GW Vomit Brown (now known as Tau Light Ochre), and then wash the whole thing with Devlan Mud (now Agrax Earthshade).

I've also wondered how many times pilots accidentally crash into the bridges of these things when trying to land!

Very nice.  As others have said the flight deck looks great.  I like the Bismarck style camouflage  markings too.

Old topic, I know, but did you really do the deck with just Tau Light Ochre and Agrax Earthshade?  Because the varied wood appearance looks great!

I do my own decks with Rakarth Flesh and then Agrax Earthshade, but is always very consistent in coloration.

It's actually Vomit Brown and Devlan Mud, so the colors you mentioned are the best approximations under the new GW paint range ;). This is actually my standard method for all of my DW decking.
