Thanks for the kinds words all!
Mark, yes, it was many hours of work. I'd estimate 15-20 hours, spread out over a few weeks.
The green of the body is several shades from Master Series Painter. Forest Green for the base color, which took FOREVER to do--those scales are actually individual armor plates, and there are about a million of them. Plus, given how they're angled, it was easy to miss spots between/under the plates. Once that was done, I did a heavy drybrush of Grass Green, then a light drybrush of Jade Green (also both from MSP).
The underbelly--which you can't really see in these pictures--is GW's Tau Light Ochre, then a heavy wash of GW's Devlan Mud, then a medium drybrush of MSP's Orange Fire.
The metallic parts--head, spinal ridge, tail, arms, and the bases of the rockets--is flat black, heavy drybrush of GW's Balthasar Gold, and then a light/medium drybrush of P3's Rhulic Gold. On the arms and legs, I actually separated away the metal flash between the pistons (which I painted silver) and the main part of the arms, so they'd look more realistic. Given the "horns" and "whiskers" coming off the head, the easiest way to paint the head was to glue it on to the body. That meant, in order to keep from messing up the green paint on the body, I had to fully paint the back of the head and the "horns", then glue it on, then paint the rest of the head.
Glad you like the Mecha Godzilla Eyes! The metallics around the eyes, as well as the teeth, are P3's Radiant Platinum.
The red and orange for the structures on the dragon's back match the scheme of the hull and roof tiles of the rest of my Chinese fleet.
I'm thinking about doing another one in the colors of the Chinese Federation flag:
